Pretty unusual how the DVD forum logo is on a spindle of DVD+Rs.

    I noticed that too!!
You are better off to stay away from those.

  5. This item does NOT appear to be the same Samsung (TY) DVD+Rs I've purchased from newegg.com.

I notice that my Samsung DVD+R's (which are TY) do not have that DVD forum logo. The logo found on my 50Pk is a "RW" logo.

Also the bottom of my cakebox spindle is black. The one in your picture is white.

Proceed with caution. You can always buy a pack and let us know the media ID code

Edit: I just checked on the Dell website. The Manufacturer Part # DRP47450CK.

This is the same Manufacturer Part# found on my samsung spindle.

Looks to me like these could be from a different manufacturer, other than TY!

Maybe call Dell and ask them if they are TY. It couldn't hurt. From the media list, the other option is that they are BeAll, which are not that good.

Having worked for Dell sales, I can say with certainty that they would have no clue if it was Taiyo Yuden or not. They would just say Samsung.

from the picture above the center item "DVD+R" almost looks like it was computer generated / modified and doesn't seem the match the rest of the label.

Man, it would be great if they labeled all disks with the mfg ID from the disk. For at least the next few years until manufacturing becomes more standardized.

Those are definitely not the same Samsung +Rs I just got from Newegg. Mine have a surprisingly sturdy spindle, much more well put together than any I've bought before. And the only logo my branding has is the "RW." The media code on my disks indicate Taiyo Yuden manufacture, and an 8X write strategy in my NEC 2500A.

Yea, I figured these were not TY's. I'm just looking for the ones I bought on Newegg...man those were great! It seems Newegg is not carrying them any longer...bummer. Would like to know where I can get my hands on more of those.

Why not just buy TY then?

  13. The two spools that I just received from newegg DVD+R 4x has the exact same label. I pulled it out of the trash last night just out of curiosity.

The ID is YUDEN. yea, the label looks crappy put who cares? I toss as soon as I open the spindle.

Yes, Maxell uses TY for some of its discs. These are good.
