In Adobe Audition, I imported an .avi that I captured from my camera that recorded an interview at 16-48000. I recorded pro audio seprately with the same bit/sample rate. I then imported the pro audio file of the interview and began to sync-up. (I even used a clapperboard.) the interview lasts about 20 minutes. at the begining of the clip, the sound is perfectly in sync but towards the end there is an echo (when I play them back together); the pro audio wav gradually falls behind as the clip progresses. This sounds like a time code problem to me but I don't know how to fix it or really why it even happened. any help would be appriciated.
Thanks,

Is the Pro Audio clip longer than the interview? If you can find a common reference point in both audio clips you should be able to "Stretch" it longer (or shorter) with Audition.
It should be the same as CoolEdit, right?
Yes, that will work, but I am trying to find out the cause of the problem instead of the band-aid solution.
