converting wmv file taking too much time

hi.
i want to convert 340 MB wmv file to mpeg (cause i want to burn it to vcd).
i am using mpegenc.
after 25 hours it converted only 24%. is it possible ????
i have Win98se and lots of memory (320 ram).the time remaing field saw me 58 hours left.
sould i quit or its normal ???
can nero can convert wmv file to vcd autmaticlly?

I don't know the length of your wmv but I would say it's probably taking too long. My guess is that the file is damaged.

your memory is not very important but your cpu is.
besides, i think wmv is a heavy codec, cos it always takes relatively long to start palying. but 50 hours or so sounds pretty long...
maybe it's faster to convert to avi and then to mpg? (just guessing)

Your times sound wayyyyyy too long. I would look at things such as CPU power, RAM capacity, Defragment your Hard Drive.

I guessing that you mean VCD, not vcc. I believe Nero is capable of converting wmv to VCD, but whether it will be able to convert your file is another matter. It wouldn't hurt to try.
