okay, I just got a Samsung 8x dual format dvdr drive, and now I'm pissed.

I was using Nero 5.5.10.56, and liked it very much. But of course, it doesn't support this new drive. So I installed the OEM copy of Nero Express.

burned my test discs just fine, but I cannot stand the Fisher Price "My First Burner"-style, let-me-hold-your-hand interface on it. I like the older Nero style - my browser window on the right, the disc contents on the left, my info buttons at the top... not this candy-coated crap.

is there any way to turn it off, and go to some Expert mode, or do I have to upgrade to a copy of Nero 6 to get the interface I want and the burner support?

    as always, any info appreciated.

Well said. I don't like the interface either ...almost insulting isn't it?

Ya know what would make the newbies freak - if Nero's next release is a DOS command line app with switches like "c:\Nero.exe -P -S -M" like in the old days. People would realize how lazy they've gotten

well, hell - at least if there was a command line interface, I could try my hand at making my own GUI for the friggin' thing.

looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
