Happy, HAPPY! I just tried this update on my old Panasonic RV32. It couldn't play Ritek (or any) DVD+R disks from my new 8X Plextor 708A (which of course doesn't support booktype bitsetting). Now it does! Woo hoo! Player was at firmware level 62B421, now 62B442. Thank you, Vanderlow, and Sango on AVS Forum! And, of course K. Timmerman at http://www.firmwareupdate.us

If your Pany is having trouble with media, check this guy out. He wants a donation on PayPal (your choice of amount). I wasn't too sure about this, but for $2, hey... I bumped into somewhere you can find it for free via eDonkey(?), but I figure since this guy is for real, he's worth alot more than $2.

  5. I just tried this too. My RV32 DVD player would not play DVD+R of any kind. Now it does with no problems. Nice update for as low as $1.00.

    Here's how it works:
    Go to the link
At the bottom of the page, click a Paypal donation amount as low as $1.
    After you donate, click continue.
You will be at the download page.
Select the download type you want.
Burn it to a CD-R, not a DVD
Insert in DVD Player and wait for the menu and click yes.

I upgraded my player with the new firmware, but SVCD support still sucks.

Its seems like everything else works alot better though. MP3 playback is no longer limited to 160 kBits/sec (it use to ignore these completely), and i've even had luck playing some VBR files.

The player also use to stick for a split second on some scene changes, and now doesn't since the update.

The player is generally more tolerant with the new firmware.
