ummm never heard of clarifier. what are you trying to do? back up a dvd to a dvd? or a dvd to a vcd? need more info. whatever it is, check the tools section and the guides to the left, there is PLENTY of info there.

Looks reasonable. Basically a poor man's TBC. Although your Panny has a built-in TBC, the standalones won't let you copy MV-protected material.

The Clarifier should do the trick for copies. The thing to check into is whether it softens or otherwise degrades the video quality. Some of the cheaper macrovision removers damage the signal.

  4. to add to that. Some of the Macrovision removers ONLY remove type 1 macrovision and not type 2. Dont know if this is an old wives tale or if there is truth to it. I'd do some searching just to make sure you dont get the final result you expect.

i have heard some of you talking about the clarifier and don't know if you have seen my post about needing help with the clarifier i already bought i have itv hooked up between the v.c.r. and my cyberhome dvdv recorder and it will not take out the macrovision everytime i try to copy off the video tape onto the dvdr it stops taping it. and i ahve been in touch with the companies tech people and tried everything they said and it still didn't work (like reversing the input and outputs on the clarifier , maybe they thought the factory hooked them up back wards , anyway that didn't work either i have triple checked everything and nothing worked , ) i paID AROUND $110.00 DOLLARS FOR THE CLARIFIER . i finally e-mailed the company and sent it back and ask them to check it and see if it was defective and if it was send me another one , other wise i will just get my money back on it since it wasn't doing what it said it would do . maybe before you buy a clarifier you better wait until someone has one that actually works lets you know. if anyone has a clarifer hooked in between a v.r. and a cyberhome dvdr and it works let me know . i told the company they need to get a cyberhome dvdr and try the clarifier their self .
