Does anyone know or have reference to an online article discussing the differences between the error corrections in DVD-R and DVD+R media. Is there a significant difference...and is one more "recoverable" than the other?

As far as I know, ECMA has the tech docs for ECC correction on DVD-R and DVD+R media.

DVD+R does have different ECC qualities that it needs to conform to, but all tested DVD-R meets/excedes these specs as well.

There is a space in the spec docs that do allow for greater error correction to be used with DVD+R(W) media, but it takes the burner to write it, and reader able to use it.

Check www.dvdrw.org for info on the DVD+R(W) formats, and http://www.ecma-international.org/ for the ECMA articles.

DVD-RAM has the best error correction and error recovery methods of all DVD media.
