DVD to a dual layer disc, will it be as simple as that?

I am thinking, Because there are 2 layers on a dual-layer disc, will we :

A) Be able to burn 8.5GB without any further alteration

or

B) Have to do something which will create a layer break to burn a 8.5GB file by seperating it into 2 equal files and then burn. ( Because there has to be a transition between the layers)

Can anybody please give their views as I think DL discs will cause more problems.

There is software already in development to take advantage of the dual layer burners coming out. The software will determine where the layer break needs to be and get everything in place.

We might find initially some bugs, but I think no more than when standard(DVD-5) DVD authoring software first came out.

I don't see how it would be a problem...I think the problem is going to be the actual burn of the disk. If they have the mechanics of the data transfer down, then what's the problem?

Data-wise, it should be no different than any other RSDL movie out there.

I can think of a possible problem with a layer break issue. All of my backups currently have a pause where the layer break was on the original.
It seems possible to me that dual layer burning programs are going to have to create a new layer break, so that each layer has the same amount of data.... meaning, there is a possibility of 2 layer breaks in one movie (the original break, and the new actual layer break).
