I can take still photos with my Sony DCRTRV265e Dv camcorder but i don't have a clue on how to get them off.

The software sony provides is terrible and doesn't even have a capture program to get the video off it so i use Pinnacle studio to capture video but i don't know how to capture stills.

Anyone know a program or technique to get them?

Use the Frame Grabber tool in Pinnacle. Go to Toolbox on the menu and select "Grab Video Frame". Simply play the video in the Player until the frame you want is displayed and then click the "Grab" button.

Also, I should mention that after you have grabbed the frame, click "Save to Disk" then choose a filename and type.

Be aware that you'll need to move clips from the album to the timeline in order to make this work (i.e. you can't grab a frame directly from the Album).
