  1. Hey all,

I am getting into karaoke lately. I know that you can make cd+g discs from scratch, but it's a pain going through the songs and tagging the words to hightlight at the song goes along, etc... So a while back i used a program that would let me attacht an image to show on the screen while the song played. This was cool because i could keep it simple by having the song play (karaoke version without the words) and simply having a picture on the screen. This static screen simply contained the words to the song. Granted, the words dont move or scroll, but if you know the basics of the songs, all you really need to look at is the the words).

Now, it was a while ago, like i said, so i don't remember the software. I have many burning platforms, and several burnign drives (pleextor) and even a dvd burner.... Now that is the simples way to make a disc where there is a single image that willl show on the screen for each song...

Actually, now that i mention this, i could oh wait... couldn't i use a slideshow program that sets the slides to music -- and just have the one (or a few ) slides of words show and tell the slides to last the duration of the song? Is that practical? What are some other methods? that may take up more room on the cd than the alternate method of one image pers song?

Also, i don't know of any players that support mp3+g, so i would still have to convert the karaoke mp3 files that i have into "regular" audio for these cd's. This is what i do anyway. That is, i have mp3 songs without words that i use. It would be nice to put the picture to them.... I don't expect to be able to utilize the actual mp3 data file with these cd's and still have words, so i don't mind converting them to regular audio (even though i can only fit about 12 songs per cd).

Thanks a bunch for your help, i appreciate it very much!!

    M
