  1. hi, I bought a 25pk of memorex DVD-R at futureshop and I performed a test with dvdinfo and this code shows up:

    00000000 00 6C 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 52 00 02 55 0D 13 .l...@....R..U..
    00000010 66 78 80 00 03 54 54 47 30 31 00 00 04 00 00 00 fx...TTG01......

    my question is: are these fake Memorexs and should i take them back?, i just want an opinion from the pros, i really dont know much about this stuff

    No. Actually that is a TDK 4X DVD-R code. Great discs, nothing wrong with them. Sure will be better than CMC's which memorex usually are.

    They should work great. BTW> where does the packaging say they were made? (Japan/Singapore or Taiwan?).

    I have never seen RITEKG04s branded as TDK myself...

    And if they say that, then they are Made in Taiwan. I don't see how that has any relevance. I am not going to get into the Made in Japan v/s Made in Taiwan v/s Made in India argument here, but if it works for you, then its good and that is all you need to know.

    I have RicohJPNR01 discs which are both Made in Japan and Made in Taiwan. I cannot tell any difference between them..
