I was wondering if others have noticed a problem with DivX avi files with 2 audio streams when you try to playback using stand alone units [Kiss. LiteOn, Loomax]. If a movie has a commentary track I like to use the 2nd audio stream for it. I only have access to the LiteOn 2001 and the Loomax X50 - here's what I've found. Note AVIs always play correctly on a PC.
Video = DiVX 5.x audio = AC3 [2ch] or MP3 cbr 192/128kbps 48kHz
LiteOn 2001
Will play and allow switching between audio streams provided one stream is ac3 and the other is mp3-cbr or both streams are mp3-cbr.
Loomax X50
Second audio stream is never accessible - occassionally there is a lip-synch issue.
I'd be interested in hearing views on the best approach to dealing with commentary/2nd-audio tracks prior to burning DVD-Rs.
