Anyone know whether this is a good bet or not? More details on
    http://www.dkdivx.co.uk/homepage.htm.

Basically, I need to know whether this type of player is sw upgradeable to cope with new codecs. The spec says "upgradeable by CD-R", so I presume it is, but if anyone has practical experience of whether this works or not, I'd like to know. I'd also like to know how this type of player handles the likes of OGG audio (if at all), XCD and Matroska.

I'm interested too... I'd like to know what decoding chipset they use... they don't detail much on the site... I won't buy before buying... I'll email SVP and see if they can tell me more.

Yes, the 339 is sw upgradeable via CD-R. DK Digital are planning an immediate firmware upgrade to sort out Progressive Scan output, and probably one later to support subtitles on DivX files.
