I have a JVC HR-S9900U with the built in TBC. I also have a Sony SLV-740HF. I do like the results I get with the JVC with one exception - it doesn't display as much detail as my Sony.

Given this post ( http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=208800 ) by fmctm1sw, I'm thinking there are probably VCRs out there that capture detail even better than my Sony (which I assume is pretty comparable image quality-wise to fmctm1sw's 700HF).

What are some excellent VCRs that folks have that really show great VHS detail that are NOT JVCs?

    Thanks.

This one for me is better than both JVC's I have IMO.

Thanks, guys. Any way you could post a couple of screen shots to show the difference between them and one of your JVCs?

@lordsmurf - any particular model of Sharp VCR that you would recommend?

Does anyone have any experience with the Sony SLV-575UC, 676UC, or 757UC? If so, how do they do for you?

I'm also interested the Mitsubishi HS-U76x and U74x series of VCRs if anyone (other than Bob W) has one.

    Thanks.

  6. Mitsubishi bought out the NEC line of VCR's in the early 90's. Most of the mid to high end units are very well built and hold up quite well. I like the Sony and Panasonic line as well.
