Help choosing a good DVD Burner

Hey guys, im new to these forums, but im no noob

I need help in picking out a good mulitformat DVD burner. I currently have a Sony DRU510A, but the disks i burn do not work on my standalone dvd player or PS2. I heard that changing the bitsetting may be able to help this. I need your help picking the best multiformat burner with this bitsetting option.

Im currently looking at the LiteOn LDW-811S/851S, but before i buy it i would like to get some expert opinions on it

Do any of you have the LiteOn, and do you like it?
Or do you have a better DVD burner?

Sorry guys forgot to mention this.

Is it possible to get hacked firmware for the LIteOn so i can rip at more than 2x? Cause ripping at 2x with my dru510a is just unacceptable :/

how are you backing up your ps2 games? i back all my ps2, about 110, using dvd decrypter, iso mode, and they all work perfect using the dru510a. even movies, -r or +r, worked in my v4 & v9 ps2 before & after they were chipped. backed on ricoh, ritek, and a few cmc type disc. i believe there is a program sony has that would help the 510a read faster than 2x.

Its not the burner its the media you are using for sure because I got the 500ax and my nephew has the 510 and they both at 4x with no problem also I make backup ps2 games and dvd-rs and they work great,and finally try princo dvd-r 4x they work great and no coasters and thy all worked even on a cheap rca dvd player I used to have which are very picky about media.And finally remember ps2s mostly only play dvd-r and not dvd+rs..
