How to configure Nero

Hi!
I bought a new DVD Burner and I installed Nero. But I got a problem, when I want to copy a VCD disk, at around 90% it stopped, it says that's there's an error. I never met that before, so I wonder if there's something wrong in my configuration.
My friend says that I need a codec, is he right? If yes, can you tell where I can dl it?

If you're copying a VCD, then there's nothing more to it than straight CD to CD copy. If you mean to create a Video DVD from VCD source, read here.
Simplest (and often best) way is to just extract the mpg from the VCd and author it as DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author.

it is possible that the VCD you are attempting to copy was the product of an "overburn'. So there is more data to copy then available on a standard cd without using the overburn option in Nero.

also, when you say that you get an error message....what specifically does the eroor message say?
