    Hey.

I have a NEC LT240K which is a front projector that displays 1080i/720p/480p/i. I presently have it hooked up to a Toshiba SD4900 which displays 480p via component cable.

My question is: Is there a dvd player that displays a 720p image via component cable? Please be aware that a DVI output does not help me as my PJ doesn't have a DVI port. The player would have to Region 1 or codefree for my use.

Any direction on this topic would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks.

  2. I believe the Lite-on 2001 (not 2002) upconverts to 720p and 1080i via componet out. Maybe the Bravo D1 too.

I don'ty beleive the D1 is capable but I did hear the Lite On was. I also heard an LG dvd player(don't know the model #) does it, but I can't seem to locate either one.

I wonder why in the staes these players aren't easily available. Do they want us buying all their 480p players first?

  4. The Bravo Di will output up to 1080i (I use mine at 720p on my DLP HDTV). I have one and enjoy watching TV (I have a scaler for doing this) and DVD movies at 720p.

Of I forgot the Bravo outputs via DVI connector and component output (selectable in the player setup).

OF COURSE. THIS PLAYER IS CALLED MOMITSU 880. Please go to www.avsforum.com dvd players forum and you'd find plenty of topics on this particual player. you can buy from a local source for under $300 I believe. Most people that have front projectors like it too.

  6. I also have a Momitsu V880.. It's finicky but it has features that the others listed above do not (I think?), i.e., multi-system converter, which is very helpful if you're in NTSC land, as it will play PAL titles on NTSC TV's. And yes, easy menu to change to whichever region you'd like.

Yea, I've heard that the analog video outputs on the Bravo D1 aren't very promising.

I use the DVI output on my Bravo and the image quality at 720p is awesome on my Samsung DLP HDTV. BTW I understand there will soon be a Bravo D2 and even a D3 but I don't know what is new or different on these new models.

    i have 2 samsung 931's which output 720p and 1080i - out the DVI connector ..

keep in mind though that this unit likeall theother ones here are just up-rez the dvd image ..... its fake HD, but does look good .. the samsung has a excellent video scaler in it ...
