Baldrick's guide "Read me first, DVD copying methods!" at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=139869 says to use DVDXCopy to copy to two DVD-5 discs. I have two questions:

    1. Is DVDXCopy the only tool that can do this? Are there any other tools I can use?

    2. Will I be able to keep the original DVD-9 menus?

I would like to rip a DVD-9 with original menus to two DVD-5 discs. I know that I could use DVDShrink and compress the original, but I don't want to do this and lose quality.

I tried playing with DVDShrink and it seems to me that the only time you have the option to rip with original menus is when you do the Full Backup. It seems like when I enter the Reauthor mode I cannot access the original menu structure.

    Thanks for the help.

I know DVDFab splits the disc but I don't know how or if it keeps the menu on the 2nd disc. There may be other methods and tools that split DVD's

to answer your previous question you asked me, yes DVDStripper can split the DVD and retain menu's as you can split it at any chapter and keep whatever titles/chapters/cells you want on each DVD. It also removes any or all the crap that plays before and after the menu's if you wan. You can also disable any buttons leading to missing material using MenuModder

it takes longer to process but should gives you more control as to exactly what is on each disc
