disc wont finalize

anybody got any idea as to why?
using xcopy express the disc freezes on the finalizing stage, i have to shut down the comp. & reboot to eject the disc. this also happens if i rip with smartripper or dvdshrink and burn using nero 6. the dvd does still play in my stand alone player but sometimes loopes, although mostly wont be recognised in the computer.
only been doing this for a couple of weeks so a complete newbie.

Any time I burn a movie in Nero, I use the DVD-Video mode. It never even asks me if I want to finalize, so I've not run into this problem. There must be some setting or check box yer tinkering with to cause this problem. In most cases when using software in this area, the default settings will do the job.

I had the exact same problem with another program. It turned out I had installed too many damn things on my pc and it messed up some shared files.
