LiteOn LVD-2002 Blanks

Hi all..

I just bought the LiteOn LVD-2002 it's real nice except sometimes it
blanks the video and playes the audio of a dvd. to fix it requires rebooting/ switching off and on to play a DVD properly.. anyone else have this problem ???

Also where do I find Firmware updates for the unit ?? can't find it on the liteon website at all .. where is it hiding ?

All 2002 models should come with the latest 229 firmware. That's why it isn't on their site.

What kind of source are you playing that blanks out? Are they from DVDRs or other burns? Divx/Xvid files? Or are these commercial dvds? Check to make sure your audio/video setup is correct. Are you trying to watch progressive scan on a non progressive TV? Also, try hitting the P-Scan button on the remote to change viewing modes. You might have it set to PAL instead of NTSC or something.

Just a normal DVD region 1 rented and new ... I haven't messed around with the region setting just Macrovision so I don't think it's a P-scan or Pal issue but I'll check it any way... could it just be bad hardware ? Since firmware is up to date.
