Samsung DVD-R's are no longer RITEK

just ordered 200 samsung dvd-r's thinking that they were going to be riteks and when i started having playback probs i decided to check the disc info. they ended up being beall g00001's. all in all i didnt think it was going to be that bad since the bealls have been getting great ratings. these seem to play in everything EXCEPT my ps2. when i check the reviews, a lot of people say that these discs work on thier ps2's. so why not mine?? the ps2 doesnt even recognise that theres a disc even in it. an ideas on what i might be doing wrong? the discs work in every other player that ive tested.

Older PS2 models dont play dvd±r/w also if your playing backups of PS2 games, youre console needs to be modded (chipped, swap discs etc.)

well i know that my ps2 plated my backups when i burned them on the ritek media. the bealls seem to play in everything so far except for the ps2. do i need some kinda of version upgrade for the discs to work?? i was reading the reviews on the bealls and everyone else said they had no prob playing back in the ps2. i was just wondering why thiers can play in while mine doesnt.
