According to Area 450, Sampo announced plans to release a new DVD+RW Recorder with HDD early next year under the Claire brand.
I wonder how much it will cost?

We have no idea yet - however, the Claire brand (basically top-end Sampo products) is really giving Sony a run for its money in Taiwan, with their LCD TVs.
So, assuming it gets a US release, rest assured it will undercut the Panasonic and Pioneer efforts

I've got my fingers crossed.
Philips have just released a chip set reference design for a +RW/HDD so shouldn't be long before we see a Philips DVDR/PVR and/or any other manfacturers who take this up.

(It wasn't so long ago a big -RW supporter once said here that Philips would never release a +RW/HDD -seems he was wrong)

Better late than never.

I'd like to see Philips implement a true DVDR+PVR combo unit. This means having an IR blaster and an EPG. So far, none of the current DVDR+HDD combo units, with the exception of the Pioneer DVDR+TiVo units, have those features.
