nec 1100a region code change

here is a pic which shows my dvd burner info using dvdinfo. it a nec 1100a burner, according to this prog the region code for my burner is 2. since i bought it used i dont know if it has has the region changed before but it says i can change it 3 times more if i want to. my questions are this, can i change it to region 0? if so how do i change it? is there a software that changes the region on dvd burners?
any help appreciated.

There is no pic hear to make it region free just use DVDregionfree or ANYDVD at www.slysoft.com

so if i install dvdregionfree will the dvd i burn myself be region 0 if i want it to be?

Yep, very few applications allow you to set anything other than all region when it comes to burning.

there's firmware to make the drive region free and even a bitsetting hack. of course, it can be a very risky thing and if a flash goes wrong, then you can kill your drive. so do it at your own risk.

there was a bug in the autoreset firmware for the 1300A, but I don't know if that is also in the 1100A modified firmware.
