    I have encoded a 9 min DV file with mencoder, but I got an avi without sound, so I converted the dv file with iTunes to a 192kbits, CBR mp3 file and now I want to merge both files; I dont have QuickTime Pro, so I want to do it with ffmpegX.
    If anyone could give me a "cooking advice", I would be very grateful.

    You can use AviTool for that. Try also to play your AVI with Mplayer, as sometimes the sound is there, just Quicktime does not play it.
