Rainbow DBS, an offshhot of Cablevision launched a satellite this July to kick off its new HDTV service called Voom. This may be old news to some, but this is the first I have heard of it. www.voom.com
It is currently being marketed at Sears and online with starting equipment costs around $750 (ouch!). Any thoughts? Has anyone here tried it? Seems promising for HDTV afficienados.![]()

You create your own reality. Interested in media servers and HTPC? Can we talk?
"Their bright Flash intro and sleek site design makes me want to buy their product..."
Alot of channels you'd see on basic cable, their own commercial-free channels, local broadcast networks, the premium movie channels.
looks ok to me. now to see if they can last
I just finally got normal Sat. TV and I'm pretty dissapointed so far, I wouldn't think I Should be actually seeing macro blocks on even a semi regular basis, yet there they are. Stupid Dish Network.
