svcd/vcd copy problems

I first tried Pinnacle instant cd/dvd and I hooked up my minidv via firewire and prior to start it showed there was only 18 min of tape at 4 gb. The tape is at least 30 min. long. It only coppied 18 mins worth because it said that was the amount of space I had. But I've got over 100 gigs free space. Can this be changed to be able to copy the complete tape?? Help, I have 8 tapes which I need to make svcds or dvds

Second try was Sonic mydvd plus, I conected via firewire my Pann. minidv to puter and started a copy/burn to a cd-r. When the burn was complete I had the following errors...

1. the cd-r did not have the audio...it had background music not from the tape.
2. the downloaded project could only be seen in a small window on the background I selected with the title on it.

Did I do something wrong?? Please help anyone.

I post this in the event anyone checks this out again.

The Windows 95,98 or ME FAT32 Filesystem will not recognize a file being larger than 4gb. Upgrade to Win2000/XP or Win NT, or Linux etc...
