I followed the installation steps, but when I open the app and try to switch to a different tab (audio, options, etc.) the app always quits. What could be wrong?

Same problem here. I just downloaded ffmpegX 0.0.8d today. Downloaded the three required binaries mp2enc, mpeg2enc, mplayer. Ran the engine install. Checked my /usr/bin dir to make sure everything was right and proper. Ran the actual installer, seemed to go fine. Copied the ffmpeg app to my applications dir. When I launched to though the interface crashed as soon as I tried to interact with it. I am running 10.2.6, any clue why it wont work?

  9. This is probably because I compiled 0.0.8d on 10.3. I'll recompile it on 10.2 and put online again within some hours.

  10. A new "0.0.8d Delta" version compiled on 10.2 is now online at the same address. If you encounter problems with 0.0.8d, download this new version and report me the results.

You may need to empty Safari cache and quit it to avoid downloading the previous version. Check in "Get info" if it is indeed version "0.0.8d Delta".

Yep ffmpegX no longer crashes. Thanks for the very timely response. One error msg does pop up though, after I click register later ffmpegX states:
No result was returned from some part of this expression. (-2763)

  12. I'm also wiping away that one and some last glitches. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry if this is an idiotic question, but what address are you referring to? I've emptied my cache and tried downloading again from the dl link at the ffmpegX homepage, but it's the same file and I still have the same problem with the program quitting.

  14. The address is http://homepage.mac.com/major4/
Check if the version number is indeed 0.0.8d "Delta".
By the way, a new version (0.0.8e) is going to be released very soon.
