  1. To all those who have had problems with Nero 6 saying that the DVD burner drive is in use by another application (Win Xp): I have had problems with this since Nero 6 was released and have finally (after lots of support emails etc ) got it fixed.

Use the Nero Clean Tool - available of the nero website - to completely get rid of any nero registry entries.

Then goto System Admin tools and bring up Services. Double Click on IMAPI and disable. then restart computer.

Download Nero Update(s)/Full Demo(s) 6.0.1.5 onwards only and install. Not sure on InCD as don't use it. The Nero tech team seem to think it cause the problem but not sure.

When asked by the installation(s) to provide serial number - input the code you got with the original nero 6 disc and everything should run fine.

the IMAPi fix has been mention on various websites but invariably didnt work until the latest release of nero (2 sep 03).

I am still shocked though that Nero release a brand new release and within one month there has been close to 100mb worth of updates - that is an extreme case of lazy programming... any more lazy and they would have to reconsider being called Microsoft!!
You don't know the power of the dark side!

  2. InCD definitely caused a conflict with Nero6 here. In order to use Nero, I had to disable the InCD service, prevent InCD from starting up on boot, then reboot my computer. Not good. The Nero6 update to 6.0.1.5 is supposed to address the problem with InCD.

I do think it very odd that they released Nero6 with such a glaring problem as a conflict with their own software.
