    Hi
    Is there a software program that will read a DVD and identified the type of protection & the movie length (tiltles, extras all included- so I now if it will fit on a blank dvd5).

    Use DVD Shrink! You don't need to know what the protection is. This program will automatically give the proper compression to fit larger movies onto one 4.7 gig disk. And if you want to backup only the movie, one click and then drag the movie only over and hit back-up. This is the only program I use and it's free!!! I still can't believe it's only 260K (can fit on one floppy 4 times over).....Terence
