How to disable macrovision?

I just received my ADVC 100 and need to know how to disable macrovision. I have read before that you have to hold down the button for about 15 seconds. But the only button it has is the one that switches it from analog in to digital in. I would have done a search but you all know the search engine is down, so Sorry for having to bring up an old and simple problem.
