sony firmware 2.0f can't update

I have been trying to update my sony dru500ax from 2.0c to2.0f. I've
read about the update but it seems no one is having the same problems as
I am having. I get a pop-up message saying I need to reinstall
"sendcom.dll", what is sendcom.dll.

It has been a while since I updated my 500A (internal) firmware, but have you looked at the downloaded firmware? I seem to recall that sendcom.dll was a part of it.

What I would do is search the computer using the search or find function of Windows unless it's a Mac. Find the file and rename it just in case and try the firmware upgrade again. Also you could go online with Sony tech support since you should be under warranty yet and use the tech support chat function over the internet.
