Guide for converting avi to mpeg2 then burning to DVD-RW

Is there a guide for converting it to MPEG2 (or whatever you have to convert it to) then burning it to a DVD-R/W?

You do not need more conversion..than TMPGENC freware for 30 days
MPEG-2 should be fine

YOU NEED an authoring application

ALL YOU NEED IS TO IMPORT the mpeg-2 into this AUTHORING APLICATION...

Place it on a blank menu, and voila. it'll offer to BURN it for you onto the DVD you asked to!
