    as the liteon 2001 can be upgrade by flash firmware would it not be possible for some of the bright sparks who region free pc dvd drives to hack the firmware on these players? make them truly (rce protection ignored) region free and play all versions of mp3s div x xvid etc?

    In time I'm sure there will be some hacks. Player hasn't been out all that long yet. You may find some on French, German or Asian sites somewhere since the player is more widely available ther for purchase then in US if you can read those languages.
