  1. Hi! so i'm back for hlep once again.

I'm transfering some stuff onto dvds via my computer and a dv camcorder. so i bridge my vcr to my pc with my dv camcorder and a firewire card. i'm using either pinnacle studio 8 or sonic my dvd to capture. both have the probelms. and i believe u lead did as well.

most are doing fine. but some for some reason have what seem to be tracking problems. they play on my television fine. and i've even tried coping them and then putting on the computer but no go. it's quite annoying. adjusting the tracking does not work. auto tracking does not work. i've tried everything that i can think of. please help!

    Robby.

Hmm, not usre what you mean by tracking problems but a common problem with displaying DV on a PC is due to interlacing. Your TV is an interlaced display. Your DV is interlaced, your monitor is not, so it does not display interlaced material well. Try playing the DV in PowerDvd, which has a built in de-interlace filter. If it looks ok in that, you are good to go.

Ah. ok, so its not DV tape, its DV as passthrough for a VCR, yes?

In that case I see what you mean, it does sound like tracking problems with the VCR. The VCR should have some sort of tracking adjustment, either a knob to turn (older models) or a menu option. If all it has is auto tracking then all I can suggest is try a different VCR, borrow one from afriend if oyu have to. In fact, as it shows up on your camera LCD, just take the camera and tape (nad cables) round to a friends house to try it.

  5. i've tried 2 different vcrs.
both play it fine on the tv. and then bad threw my camcorder...

the only thing i can think of is that it's the cable or something? but it doesn't do it to all videos. so i don't know. i guess i'll try a new cable? blah/.
