  1. I downloaded this 700MB Matroska (.mkv) file and I want to put it onto a VCD.

The file plays fine on my computer. I tried using VirtualDubMod to open it. After "parsing" the file, VirtualDubMod crashes immediately. I converted an AVI to Matroska and opened up that Matroska file with no problems.

I had about 1.4GB of free space when I tried to open the 700MB Matroska file; I thought that would be just fine.

Any ideas on how I can open up my file successfully, or are there any other ways for me to convert the Matroska file?

VirtualDubMod is no that great in handling mkv files, try to use GraphEdit.
