    What is the difference between these two? I have tried to use Encoder with some captures and it never works. I have the DAC100 coming so was wondering if one of these was better than the other.

    The encoder encodes to windows media format. Simple as that. BUT, I think you have to have directx 8.1 at least for it to work. The player is simply a player. The stuff I made with WME didn't work in my old version of WMP. I had to download the WMP 9. It works for me....
