    I have a codec but I don't see where to install it. It still tries to go online to download something. That is not possible as my cap computer HAS NO connection to the internet. Any ideas?

    Location: universe
    install poweredvd trial version. remove power dvd trial version. the mpeg2 codec will stay on your computer.

    I have powerdvd but WMP still won't play my mpeg-2 files. I just did a total reformat of my drive and am reinstalling....
