    I have bought 4.7 GB DVD R+ & - Disk and Nero nor Windows XP seems to be able to use the disks...it says the drive is empty...and ideas??

    Is the disk blank or does it have data on it? If it's blank then windowsXP will not read it or for that matter recognize it.

    If you've bought both + and - R, I take it you have a dual format writer ? Obvious maybe, but people do get caught out !

    What writer are you using ?

    Or, can you not read recordable media in a DVD-ROM drive ?

    More info, please !

    I bought + first because I didn't know there are two types....it is - but still it isn't recognised by NERO or XP. They are blank....HELP!!!

    Yes, so what recorder are you using ?

    Can you read pressed media in your recorder, or does it ignore absolutely everything ?
