SONY DRU 500 AX DVD X Press will not burn Memorex

I understand that DVD authoring can be tempermental. Using the Sony DRU500 ax with the latest firmware windows 98 will not burn memorex DVD-R(1X) it burns about 4 minutes of material I used the program DVD X press copy. Contacted Memorex Canada and threy reported someone else had the same problem. They gave me samples of different media. Burns DVD+R and DVD+RW(4).
Has anyone experiences similar problems with Memorex.
Everythimg works perfectly using TDK DVD-R(2) The obvious solution is to use TDK but it is strange the Memorex will not burn

I have Sony DW-U10A (DRU 500 OEM), I've have never able to complete a burn on Memorex DVD-RW. You can't even format them after they have been in the drive. I now use DataSafe or Beall's

I have used the Sony DRU500 AX and the DRU510A with Memorex DVD-R and have had no problems at all. I tried the RW discs and they don't seem to want to record anything. Try the -R discs.

I apologize I did not make myself clear It will not burn
Memorex DVD-R(1) It burns anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes on the disc and then stops. I took my sample into Memorex to day and gave it to the sales amanger.

I really do not expect memorex to do anythinmg more.
There are three other factors
Windows 98
Sony DRU 500 ax
DVD x press copy
These three items are not interacting propelywith the media
