Looking for my perfect dvd player

i've been though quite a few dvd players and have yet to find one that i am satisfied with. i'm looking to purchase a new one that will suit all the needs i require from it. let me know if you know of a dvd player that will do all of these things.

must do
---------
play vcd, xvcd, svcd, xvcd (and must display pal signal on ntsc televsion correctly)
play dvd-r & dvd-rw (and must display pal signal on ntsc televsion correctly)
play svcd-dvd's (created with SVCD2DVDMPG)

optional
---------
play dvd+r & dvd+rw
play mp3's
picture cd's, jpg's


i currently have 3 dvd players..

apex 1100w, it does everything i want it to. but i've had bad luck with apex dvd players.. after a while of playing the discs the screen starts flashing weird colors and i have to poweroff the system and start over.

sanyo dwm-370, it does everything except play VBR svcd's..

pioneer dv-250, very nice dvd player. play's vcd, xvcd, svcd, xsvcd (and converts pal signal so that it will display on an NTSC television correctly). But, it will not display a PAL dvd correctly on an NTSC television.


if i could find a dvd player that does everything the apex 1100w does & not mess up on me when i'm watching a movie then it would be the perfect dvd player..

Buy an X-Box and put a mod chip in it. Then it will meet ALL those requirements. PM me if you have any X-Box questions.

what mod chip do you need for the xbox? i did a quick search and there are a bund of them. some look a little difficult to install.
