I have seen this in my local store now and I am on the verge of buying one. Does anyone know of a website that has graphic examples of how the printed CD's and DVD's turned out? I would really love to see an example.

Requires the use of specially coated CD's which basically negates the value of owning this printer.
How does it negate the owning of this? Do you really want to print directly over the Imation or Memorex labels? It would look like shit. You need a blank surface of course and although a special coating is needed, you would only use this for special projects. Like my home movies or my friends wedding.
I have one on order and it should be coming soon. It does require inkjet printable media but I have found where I can get 4x Princo printable DVD-R for $145 per 100 dics so I put them on order a few days ago.
For me this is overkill and not cost effective. I'm sure the quality looks very good. I've got a Lexmark Z45se that I paid $32 for, access to Avery 100 pack labels for $6 each and free CDR media via MIR. This setup produces labels that look very good as well.
I'll look forward to hearing how the results come out. Hopefully, you'll let us know if it creates a professional looking image that will match up to a disk from one of those big-time recording companies.
