IEEE 1394/MS DV ERROR

I use SONY'S CAMDORDER, SONY'S VAIO WIN 98SE PC. My PC does not recognize Camera and I ahve tried everyting that i can (device manager and upgrade driver etc). any suggestion? thanks

I realize your post is several years old, but if you're still interested, see my recent post "Canon HV20/30/40 IEEE 1394 connectivity issues with Windows XP" in the Newbies / General Discussion. The gist of it is that if you've cued up an HDV tape, and set the output on your Sony DVC to HDV, Windows won't recognize it.
