It seems that the textsub plugin which comes with vobsub is incompatible with avisynth 2.5. I got the latest vobsub and gordianknot packages, and when i modify my AVS files the usual way to add SSA subtitles, it refuses to open in virtualdub for checking, citing incorrect plugin for textsub.vdf.
Any suggestions, or should i give up encoding in XVID?
(and no, downgrading to a lower version of avisynth would not work; there seems to be other plugins that are only compatible with 2.5.)

I'm getting the same thing man. Posted a thread about it a moment ago. I think it may be improperly registered filters or something. It happened to me a couple years back but I've forgotten how I fixed it...
EDIT:
OH GEEZ THIS THREAD'S OLD.
