  1. Hi,

Im ripping a DVD (Super Troopers) With this process:

DVD Decryptor > DVD2AVI > VirtualDUB (Xvid Codec)

    I've also used:

    SMartRipper > Dr. DIVX

I get a very nice output. Im satisfied with it, but it only lasts for about 5-8 seconds! after taht, it's ALL crappy quality. it goes to literally horrendous quality. Anyone know whY?

I searched the forum, but couldn't find anything relative.

    Thanks again!

  2. the begining and the end needs less bitrate then the movie does so you may have the bitrate set to low.
i've only did two rips with xvid and they came out bad.i redid them with divx and they look good.
you may want to try useing gordian knot,it now supports xvid and uses vdubmod.

    does dr.divx work with xvid?
