I've got a part in the middle of my video file that is messing up the audio sync. a little bit, but I can't see anything there that would do it.

The 1st part is in-sync and just fine, but something someplace after that, something is messing it up.

I've watched the file 5 or 6 times to find the part and remove it, but I can NOT find anything obviously bad about any parts.

Is there a program that I can run the video through that will identify location(s), and duration(s) of parts that might cause problems?

I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video.....

If the video is AVI, you may want to look into Virtual Dub. The Video-->Scan video stream for errors function logs any bad or potentially bad frames for you , and puts them in a logfile.

You can use Vitualdub Mod to check video file.

Sorry, I only do DV/AVI. I never capture directly to Mpeg-2.
There is no such thing as "Idiot-Proof".........a good Idiot will get around that every time.

You could try VcdGear and check for bad parts.

    Thanks, Guys
(bobmeyer, my caps are all DVD compliant MPEG-2, so I don't think VDGear will help me....it wouldn't recognize my file types. I apparently only works on Mpeg-1 type files.)

racer-x & Tommyknocker, I guess the spots aren't "bad" because although the latest VirtualDub reconized and imported my Mpeg-2 videos just fine, when I ran them thru it, I got a message at the about there being "0 errors".

I guess I should have asked the question differently. Is there a program that will analyse a video file for "blank spots" or other things that might cause audio sync problems.

It appears that is what I'm dealing with very short blank spots(I guess)

Is there a utility that will analyse files for things like that?
