  1. I've been capturing home videos in DV tapes using firewire card and mostly Pinnacle Studio 8. I tired Ulead programs and VirtualDub as well.

I have no problem of capturing the video and audio but I would like to capture date and time code as well. Is there a program or a way to do that?

Basically I do capturing to convert it into DVD and without the code, I have to go through each scene and write down the date and time so I can mark it when I do editing.

    Thanks in advance!

You can do it with EditStudio from http://www.puremotion.com. Just go to the forum there, and do a search. I know there is a thread about this topic, just don't have a direct link for you. I'm sure that VegasVideo and some of the others will do this, I just don't know how or where to find the info.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  3. Thanks for the info. I found the thread and it sounds promising.
Do they sell this in America?

I also found out that Pinnacle Studio 8 does not support the date/time stamping. I heard they do not intend to add this feature soon. It shouldn't be hard to implement judging by the info from EditStudio.

    Anyway... thanks.

*** Well. Tried the program and the info was for time coding (running time) which was not what I wanted. I wanted to show the DATE and TIME that the scene was taken. You know those watermarks at the right bottom of the screen which you can turn on and off? It seems like there is no program that can do that.

  4. Is there really no program that can place the timecode at the movie ?
I think that this is one best feature with the DV camcorders. I have set up my cam corder in a way that every start of a new scene add 10 s of time code in the bottom of the picture.
There must be some way to do that when have captured the movie on the computer.

    Anyone who know anything ?
