  1. I have this TV

    VIZIO M322i-B1 32" Class 1080p 120Hz Full-Array LED HDTV

    It has no Headphone Jack

    I purchased this cable

QVS CC399FM 3.5mm Stereo Female to RCA Male 8" Cable

It works but the audio leveling sucks & the Headphones do not match the volume

So how can I get headphones 2 match the volume & go up & down

  2. You need an amplifier. Your best bet is probably a pair of inexpensive computer speakers with a headphone jack. Something like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-980-000417-Speakers-Z130/dp/B003CP0OT2/
    http://www.amazon.com/Insignia-Stereo-2-0-Computer-Speakers/dp/B003HAZNN4/

Those usually have stereo mini pin plug inputs so you might need this cable:

You will need a different adapter cable (with a 3.5 mm male connector) to connect the TV to the speakers above: http://www.amazon.com/Parts-Express-3-5mm-Stereo-Cable/dp/B0002KR1OG

That type of cable is sold in many stores that have an electronics department.

[Edit] Looks like jagabo edited his post while I was typing this.

Sorry but that is a 'total crap quality' solution.

You can buy a dedicated headphone amplifier but why not do the obvious thing and run the output of your TV to your sound system and use the headphones out?

  5. If he had a sound system he probably would have thought of that.

Search for "headphone amplifier." The Behringer would work fine. You will need a dual-RCA to 1/4-inch TRS phone plug adapter.

    TheRandomOne,

I've had very good luck with this http://www.shenzhenaudio.com/smsl-sapii-pro-tpa6120a2-hifi-stereo-headphone-amplifier-...r-adapter.html

It allows adjusting the volume available to the headphone. No bass or treble adjustments however. I use it with my Samsung TV in the bedroom for private listening to TV. The Samsung only has an analog speaker output available. I muted the internal TV speakers so only the stereo output is active. I've been very happy with the results. The volume level adjustment is more than adequate. I'm currently using a pair of Grado 325 stereo headphones. I chose this headphone amp on the basis of price/performance. An additional cable is required to connect the TV to the amp. There are two choices for the connection at the amp end.

The site also has a wide range of similar offerings that would meet your needs.

  11. Make sure the RCA to stereo mini plug cable is long enough for your setup. Since you have an RCA to female stereo plug adapter already you can use a male-male stereo plug cable with it:

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/StarTech-3-Slim-3.5mm-Stereo-Audio-Cable-M-M/15862703

And keep in mind you control the volume at the speaker enclosure with this setup. So if it's across the room you'll have to get up to adjust the volume. A more convenient setup would include an amp with a wireless remote. Or a small powered amp that can sit next to you or clip onto you. I think this but I'm not sure:

    or definitely this:

Everything is close 2 each other. How would this set up work ? Would I need the adapter wire I already have with this ? I imagine I would plug in the Red & White into the TV. Followed by the other wise into the speakers. Connect headphones 2 the speakers in the front & things should be fine ?

if you bought http://www.walmart.com/ip/Axis-Communications-3.5mm-Stereo-Plug-2-RCA-Plugs-Y-Adapter/20822516 you would not need to use the adapter cable you already have. ...but http://www.walmart.com/ip/Axis-Communications-3.5mm-Stereo-Plug-2-RCA-Plugs-Y-Adapter/20822516 is only three feet long. jagabo is correct that you might want a longer cable. 6 ft RCA to 3,5mm: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Comprehensive-MPS-2PP-6ST-Comprehensive-Cable-Standard-Serie...ble-6/21668792 Yes, you would plug the red and white plugs into the TV and the 3.5 mm plug into the speaker 3.5mm line in port.

The cable you already have could be used with this 6-ft extension: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Micro-Connectors-M06-730-Micro-Connectors-6-Audio-3.5mm-Ster...Cable/27335820 or jagabo's 3 ft extenson http://www.walmart.com/ip/StarTech-3-Slim-3.5mm-Stereo-Audio-Cable-M-M/15862703
