Hello
I need to recommend a Macintosh application for someone I know who has little computer knowledge and needs to build videos of presentations he makes.
He simply needs to…
- Insert PowerPoint slides so that the camcorder stays on him the whole time instead of zooming in and out of the screen behind
- Join multiple videos into a single file
- If need be, resize the video to get a smaller file before uploading to YouTube
Is there a good, simple application for Macintosh that can do this, either free or commercial?

Thank you.

On a mac there are three options:
iMovie, which is probably insufficient for his needs
FCPX, which is way overkill, but only $300
Premiere Pro, also overkill $30/mo
(Could also try Premiere Elements -- haven't personally used it in years, but last I tried it was clunky.)
On a PC, he could go with Vegas Movie Studio $50. -
