  1. How to stop Window Explorer opening when inserting VCD?

Every time I place a VCD into the cdrom Window Explorer opens. How do I stop Winxp from doing this.
I have gone to Folder properties and have selected "Take no Action" for all of the selection but still continues to open up the Window Explorer.

Where do I change this annoying property?

  2. You have associated the VCD file to Explorer. To fix, put the disk in the drive and in Explorer highlight the largest file (the media file) probably a .dat file. Right click and pick "Open With" and "Choose Program". Pick the program you want to use and tick the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" Then click OK. Your done.

  4. Keep the shift key pressed while inserting the disc.

Add the name of your CD/DVD unit to the following Registry Key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Cdrom\AutoRunAlwaysDisable

    , then reboot the PC.

    HTH.
