  23. This has to be one of the most helpful forums on the web.

There is a film I'm trying to get from BFI Player to view offline:

    http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-fishermen-1959/

I looked at View Source and it seems to use a SWF player.

I then ran URL Sniffer and the manifest URL appears to be

    http://player.ooyala.com/static/cacheable/a1e42d9ec723dfe4c934cf72828b8297/player_v2.s...0e90d730dbd92/[[DYNAMIC]]/2

But I can't work out how to create the actual manifest to download the file using AdobeHDS.php Please can some one help?

    Many thanks - SB

  26. SByers666, the Firefox extension "HDS Link Detector" is what you need. You just need to append "--outfile filename.flv" to the code that it generates (without the quotes) and then paste that into the command window. Also, Internet Download Manager works for the videos on bfi.org.

  27. Hi,

I am trying to use Adobehds.php to merge f4f fragments, but I am getting the dreaded "Could not open input file: AdobeHDS.php" error.

I have downloaded all the f4f fragments I need through downthemall in firefox, so I want to merge the files using Adobehds.php. I actually purchased a copy Bigsoft Video Downloader to merge the fragments, but the Bigsoft software is so buddy and slow that I think Adobehds.php must be better.

I was able to install Adobehds.php from github and I have been successful at running php -v. When I do that, I get this result:

    C:\>php -v
    PHP 5.6.13 (cli) (built: Sep 3 2015 15:14:39)
Copyright (c) 1997-2015 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.6.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2015 Zend Technologies

I can also run php --helper.

But when I try to do most anything else, including using a manifest switch (php AdobeHDS.php --manifest "your_manifest_url" --delete), I just get the "Could not open input file: AdobeHDS.php" error.

I have downloaded the most recent AdobeHDS.php and installed it in my C:\PHP folder. I also tried running PHP with the apache server turned on. Nothing worked.

Has anyone found a solution to this error? It seems to be very common.

  28. I can't promise this will solve all your problems but have you tried using the Firefox extension HDS Link Detector?

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/hds-link-detector/?src=api

To use it you click its icon so it turns red then visit whatever video site and play the video. If it detects the necessary info it will pop up a text box at the bottom of your browser which you click on to copy the code to your clipboard. You can then append to its code (space) --outfile yourvideoname.flv (as an example) and press enter. You might have to be swift about pasting the code as with some sites the code expires after a short time. (I find it useful to paste --outfile yourvideoname.flv into the CMD window then backspace the cursor so it in the right position ready to enter the generated code)

    A simple example would be:

    Code:
    php AdobeHDS.php --manifest "http://ak.c.ooyala.com/Yxa2djczpsSkxBnCYgjIJVJmOo3ZTf8Y/Yxa2djczpsSkxBnCYgjIJVJmOo3ZTf8Y_1.f4m" --delete --outfile somefile.flv

  29. Thanks for your reply.

I have tried HDS Link Detector, but it still get the same error:

    "C:\>php AdobeHDS.php --manifest "http://ak.c.ooyala.com/Yxa2djczpsSkxBnCYgjIJVJm
    Oo3ZTf8Y/Yxa2djczpsSkxBnCYgjIJVJmOo3ZTf8Y_1.f4m" --delete --outfile somefile.flv

Could not open input file: AdobeHDS.php"

I think the most likely origin of my problem is that I have some how configured something incorrectly, but I don't know what that could be. I copied the raw AdobeHDS.php file from github and placed it in the cdrive PHP folder.
